So up in Wisconsin, an 11 year old girl has died after her parents refused to have her treated for diabetes. Instead, they prayed over her. Yet, after a month-long battle the girl lost her battle. The parents may be arrested.
There's a twist. The parents are not afilliated with any church.
Many would read this story and ask, "How could God let this happen?" or "Why didn't God answer they're prayers?"
What are your thoughts on this?

Wow, My thought is that God gave man the ability to fish to feed, the ability to make tents to stay warm and out of harms way. God is Almighty & All knowing, but he gave man the ability to think. I can tell you that if it were my child I would seek medical help and allow God to work in which ever manner he so chooses. Who knows. God could have put a doctor there to be a blessing as he did Abraham for His people. Need I say more!
I wouldn't choose to do what these parents did. I would seek whatever medical attention is necessary for my children and consider it a Gift from God that it worked.
It is very said when God puts answers in front of people's faces and they choose to ignore them.
We must do ALL we can do and God will do the rest. I don't think they did ALL they could do. I believe God inspires people to find treatments and cures and even to study medicine and become doctors/nurses. He asks humans to be instruments in His hands. They did not trust God to know He works though others. Just my opinion.
I am extremely upset to read that! Praying is great, and yes, God can and does work miracles...but not treating that child was absurd! I agree with Shawnee...just because He can work miracles, doesn't mean you should just sit there and do nothing but pray!
"God helps people who help themselves". Now, thinking about that, I think common sense should kick in and tell them that kids can't treat themselves...parents need to!
I guess we should just stop all research on Type 1 Diabetes, Pediatric Cancer, AIDS, everything else! After all, what's the point?
Ugh!
Oh, just had to add this in!
They said they "believe the word of God and live according to its precepts.”
"Proverbs 24:11-12
11 Rescue those being led away to death;
hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
12 If you say, 'But we knew nothing about this,'
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who guards your life know it?
Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?"
Isn't what they did the exact opposite of that?
